Hello Again Everyone ~ I'm sure that for many of you, the idea that we're approaching an entire year without Mom feels impossible. We feel the same. However with this difficult time, there comes an opportunity to honor and cherish the lovely memory of Mom, and to remember the blessing that she was and is in our lives. To that point, Holy Family Cathedral is holding their Annual Memorial Mass on Sunday, November 5th, at 11:15am. This is a special Mass to celebrate the memory of all those in Mom’s parish who have died during this past year. Anyone wishing to come can bring a simple garden flower to place in a basket when you enter the church in honor of Mom. In addition, there will be a reception directly following the Mass which will have a series of “Memory Boards.” On one of those boards will be a picture of Mom that I made specifically for this. (they asked us to only send a single picture, or a single poem, and I just couldn’t decide…. so I crafted a little compromise) The poem was one of Mom’s favorites. Click here to see her Memorial Board picture! Naturally, we know that most of you will not be able to make it to this Mass, but I wanted get the information out to everyone, just in case. As for myself, Christine, Jason, Jennifer, and Erin. The realization of Mom’s absence in this past year is a hurt with no heal. It comes to each of us in different times and degrees, but we are incredibly lucky to have each other and our own networks of family and friends to support us. Mom has found her way into our dreams and our lives in so many amazing and undeniable ways which continue to bring a smile to our faces, and a Mothers hug to our hearts. We hope this year brings joy and love to all of you. Thank you for keeping Mom in your hearts and lives. She is surely smiling down on us.
